Plant Response Biotech Ltd. was founded in March 2008 as a Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) spin-off by co-founders Antonio Molina Fernández and Pablo Rodriguez Palenzuela , researchers from the Plant Biotechnology and Genomics Centre (CBGP), and by F&F Capital Funds. PRB is based on technology initially developed by the CBGP Researchers.
Their goal was to create synergy and value in their crop protection research programs and thus meet the current challenging agricultural market needs.
Plant Response Biotech has a world-wide exclusive license to the initial technologies and has the capacity to develop further innovative approaches to protect plants against pest and pathogens at a global scale.
In the December of 2011, Plant Response Biotech increased its financing with a group of institutional investors.
